About the Project
Role: Lead Front-End Developer, Theme Designer
Tools & Technologies: Wordpress
The Reaching and Teaching Struggling Learners (RTSL) initiative focuses on dropout-prevention in Michigan’s public secondary schools. The original RTSL website was a brochure site that provided only basic contact information. As the needs of users changes, the director of RTSL expressed a need for more of her project’s information to be made available online.
The Center for Educational Networking (CEN) assisted RTSL in the redesign process by first hosting a logo design contest. Once the logo was finalized, a premade theme was selected to be used for the site. We found, however, that the theme just wasn’t satisfying the project needs, so I started from scratch and developed a design that better fit the website content. I integrated colors used in RTSL print materials to provide a cohesive brand. I also developed an infographic for the project.
The website has been retired due to a reorganization of the RTSL grant.
