If you’ve ever wanted to see more of a website (or eliminate distractions), I’ve got a great Firefox tip for you.
Firefox for Macintosh
Click the little bar at the very top right of your browser window:

And voila! You instantly get back some precious vertical pixels:

Firefox for Windows
There is a similar function for PC—simply press the F11 key, provided it’s not bound to another action, and you will see something like:

On the PC version, your Firefox window will automatically maximize, which I’m honestly not crazy about. However, it does take minimalism one step further than the Mac version by only showing your tabs when you hover over the very top of the window.
Either way, it’s a handy little tip to have in your arsenal.

The Mac version of the Windows F11 trick is Cmd+Shift+F. I had no idea about the toolbar collapse button. That’s cool.
Ahh good to know! It looks like my Web Developer toolbar add-on overrides the Cmd+Shift+F trick on Mac. Kind of ironic.
Hmm, I’ve got the Web Dev toolbar too, and even though it claims that’s a short cut for Display Element Information it still does the full screen thing for me. Cmd+Shift+S works for Disable All Style though. Weird!
You’re still using your old school user pic here. :)
I’m about to devour your thesis. I’ll be geeking out over it later I’m sure.
hah yep I think gravatar is one of the few places I’ve forgotten to update it. Thanks for visiting! =)
nice! never knew that.
